Share the ride, split the cost.

Carpooling turns a solo commute into a shared one, and we'll help cover the cost of getting there. Grab a neighbor, a coworker, or find someone new through GoMassCommute, and earn up to $45 in gas cards over three months once you make the switch.

Who is eligible?

Any employee or tenant of a participating A Better City TMA member company or Allston Brighton TMA member company currently driving alone at least three days a week is eligible. Riders who switched from driving alone to carpooling within the last three months qualify too, as do new riders joining an existing carpool who previously drove alone. Proof of driving alone (a parking pass or receipt) is required at registration.

Sharing the ride is flexible

We understand that your schedule may change, so you don’t need to commit to carpooling every day. To participate in the program, you simply need to share the ride at least three days per week. You decide what works best for you.

How does it work?

Log at least six trips a week in your GoMassCommute account and earn a $15 gas card each month, for three months. Every trip you log builds toward unlocking that month's card.

Reimbursements apply for purchases made in the same calendar year and must be submitted before the end of the calendar year.

What happens after three months?

If you continue to carpool end of three months, keep tracking your trips in your GoMassCommute account to earn more fun prizes!

How do I sign up?

Signing up is easy! Simply log on to your commuter account commuter account and visit the “Rewards” section on your dashboard. Follow the instructions in the "Carpool Subsidy" program and start logging your trips! 

What if I need to get home unexpectedly?

A Better City TMA gives you peace of mind with the Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH) program. Get sick? Have a family emergency? Blow a tire on your bike? No problem! Through GRH you receive up to six free Uber rides per year.
