CLEAN AIR PLEDGE

To kick off the new year, we’re launching our First Annual Clean Air Pledge!

Mobile combustion accounts for over 40% of statewide Massachusetts greenhouse gas emissions. Every commute decision impacts that number. Will you join A Better City TMA in committing to a Year of the Clean Commute & reducing your commute emissions this year? Check out the perks for pledging below!

  • Automatic Enrollment in Our Green Cohort! Join other commuters looking to green their commutes.
  • Customized Cohort Reports! Receive reports to see the measurable impact you & your pledge cohort make over the year.
  • Super Commuter Prize! Win guaranteed prizes for logging 10+ commutes (no more than 2 telecommutes) every month on GoMassCommute at the 6- and 12-month mark!
  • Share Your Why Raffle! Keep an eye out for a post on our social media where you can like & comment why you’ve pledged to get entered in a raffle!
  • Limited-Edition Social Media Badge! Get access to a commemorative badge to share your commitment with your networks.

LUNCH & LEARN: WINTER BIKING

Thursday, january 14 | 12:00 - 1:00 PM | Zoom

Curious about biking into work in the winter, but hesitant about how to get going? You’re not alone! This bike commuting seminar is geared toward sharing the knowledge and empowerment to take your bike commute year-round, and getting out on the roads, bike lanes, and pathways to get yourself to work. Winter biking is fast, free, and fun- and you’ll get fit! The experts at MassBike have honed their winter riding tips to get you over the barriers of "dark, cold, and wet". Come with your questions and your stories, and learn along with fellow bikers and commuters. You may even gain a bike-buddy to try the wintry commute!

This session is open to any employee, tenant, or resident of one of our TMA member properties.

Interested in signing up? Register here or email tma@abettercity.org to receive the meeting invitation with Zoom details.

Water Transit Month

For A Better City TMA, July is Water Transit Month. Each year, we put on events and programs that promote Water Transit commuting as a fun, effective way to get to work. 2020 programming details below!

  • Water Transit photo contest! Tag your water transit photos on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook with #WTMBoston to enter. A Better City TMA will select one winner each week. Prizes generously donated by Paddle Boston and Cape Flyer!
  • GoMassCommute signup raffle! Create your new GoMassCommute account during Water Transit Month and earn entry into an exclusive raffle for a pair of Bose Frames! The winner will be announced in the first week of August.
  • Double ferry points! Log your ferry trips (for work or recreation) in RideAmigos and earn double points for each trip! These points can be used toward extra monthly/quarterly raffle entries or go toward your bank of points for up to six Guaranteed Rides Home per year.

2020 Bike Tune Ups

Every year, A Better City TMA partners with local bicycle shops to offer free bike tune ups to employees and tenants at our member locations during warm weather months. The Bike Tune Ups are our way of getting to know the cycling community and rewarding cyclists for their dedication to a sustainable commuting choice. And if that doesn't excite you enough, there's also usually free breakfast! Check below to see if there's an upcoming Bike Tune Up at your workplace. Please note: 2020 events are subject to cancellation, rescheduling, or replacement with virtual workshops as public health guidelines continue to evolve.
