Summer Promotion
Take a bite out of the Apple
Win a $200.00 Apple store gift card or an iPod Shuffle
Monday, August 2 - Wednesday, September 15
A Better City TMA will participate in a joint summer promotion with MassCommute. Submit a video (no more than two minutes) or a picture (with caption) showing us why you share the ride by taking public transportation, carpooling/vanpooling, bike/walk to work or telework. A few suggestions for topics (or create your own to show us your commute):
1. Why I switched from driving alone – entries will illustrate why the participants decided to switch to carpooling, vanpooling, public transit, biking, walking, or teleworking – e.g. a picture or video of your carpool whizzing down the HOV lane with the non-HOV lane traffic standing still, etc.
2. My fabulous non-SOV commute – entries illustrate any of the many benefits of switching to carpooling, vanpooling, public transit, biking, walking, or teleworking – e.g. a picture or video of your relaxing ferry ride to/from work.
3. Something funny happened on the way to work – entries will document something funny or unique that happens on their commute or a reenactment of something that previously happened on their commute.
A first prizewinner will be selected from each type of media (video and picture) and a grand prizewinner deemed to be the overall best entry would be selected. The promotion will begin on August 2nd and continue through September 15th. Winners will be announced prior to the end of September. Enter and you may win some great prizes from Apple.
Additional promotional details:
The promotion will run between August 2nd and September 15th. Participants will create a short (less than 2 minutes) video or submit a picture with a description (30 words or less) showing their commute. Show us your commute for a chance to win great Apple prizes. Entrants will submit their pictures or videos using Photobucket. All contest pictures and videos can also be viewed at the Photobucket website at www.photobucket.com. One winner will be selected from the picture submissions to win an Apple iPod Shuffle and one from the video submissions to win an Apple iPod shuffle. One grand prizewinner will be selected to win the grand prize of a $200.00 Apple store gift card.
Description:
Create a short video/ take a picture showing us why you share the ride by taking public transportation, carpooling/vanpooling, bike/walk to work or telework.
A. Participants will create a short (2 minutes or less) video; or
B. Participants will take a picture and submit a short blub about the picture (less than 30 words).
Video and Picture Uploading: Each participant will upload his or her video or picture to the Photobucket page. Photos/videos will be available for viewing on the Photobucket website at www.photobucket.com.
Judging:
Pictures and videos will be judge on a scale of 1-5 based on these two criteria.
1. Interesting (how interesting/different the commute is)
2. Humor (how funny the picture or video is)
Each video or picture will be scored and the top picture and video will be selected by a panel of judges as well as the grand prize winning submission.
